QuizWizards brings five rounds of live fan engagement to the Curragh’s Tattersalls Irish Guineas weekend
Curragh fan engagement took a new direction as QuizWizards made its horse racing debut at the Tattersalls Irish Guineas weekend in May 2026. Racegoers played a live game between races, competing across five quiz rounds for tickets to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival.
The activation on Saturday 23 May brought an extra competitive element to the day at The Curragh Racecourse, giving fans something to take part in throughout the gaps in the racing programme.
Curragh fan engagement across five live rounds
The race-day programme invited visitors to “Become the Curragh Quiz Wizard”, with a QR code to register for the free interactive game. Five live quiz rounds ran between races, with a leaderboard throughout the day and the fastest time used to separate tied scores.
Four weekend tickets to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival were offered as the prize. That gave the competition a connection to another major occasion at the same venue, with a reason for racing fans to keep playing.
Adding to the atmosphere between races
The format fitted the rhythm of a race meeting: short opportunities to play during the day, while the live standings gave the rounds a continuing competitive thread.
For QuizWizards, it was a first opportunity to bring the Fan Engagement Platform into horse racing. The activation demonstrated another setting for live games, alongside our work in rugby, football, basketball and live entertainment.
A proud moment at the track
Founder Rory McEvoy had his son beside him for the day, making the debut a personal milestone too. Reflecting on the weekend, he wrote:
“He comes with me to so many sports events and activations, and I’m hugely proud that he gets to see his dad’s work in action in the real world.”
It was a memorable start to QuizWizards’ work in horse racing, and one we hope to build on at future race meetings.
